Benedetti DAVIS Lateral Extending Dining Table

DAVIS is a clean, contemporary dining table from the Italian maker Benedetti. The knotty oak veneer top has a bevelled edge on both long sides and sits on a micro-textured metal base with crossed rectangular legs, so it looks light while staying very stable.

This is the side-extending version: two 50 cm leaves are stored inside the frame and pull out at the ends, so the table grows from 170 to 270 cm (6 to 10 people) or from 200 to 300 cm (8 to 12 people).

• Scratchproof finish (+€300 on 170 cm, +€365 on 200 cm). The top is sandblasted to bring out the oak grain and sealed with a hard-wearing acrylic coat that stands up better to everyday use.

About Benedetti

Benedetti is a family-run Italian company that has made tables and chairs for around 50 years in Gallo di Petriano, in the Montefeltro hills of the Marche, near Pesaro. This part of Italy has a long furniture-making tradition, and each Benedetti table is still made to order there for the customer who buys it.

The company's approach is to combine artisan craftsmanship with modern production technology: technology brings efficiency and precision to every step, while skilled hands give each table its character. Finishes such as sandblasting, which brings out the natural grain of the wood, and "consumo", a hand-distressed edge that recalls the wear of old solid wood, are still done by hand. Tables can be lacquered in Benedetti's own colours or any RAL shade. Benedetti tables are tested for stability, strength and durability.
